SOS Emergency Card

Posted by:

In February 2013 the VBBA launched its SOS Emergency Card. This is a new initiative and added benefit for Club members. The purpose of the card, which is credit card size and kept in ones wallet, is to alert emergency services (in the unlikely event the member is caught up in an emergency situation) that the person has dogs at home that will need attention. My concern is how many of these Basenjis with this condition just get put to sleep as vets think they look so bad they can’t recover. Most other breeds look like a mild drunk when they get it, Basenji look like a newborn Bambi ...

Half Century!

Posted by:

We are very pleased to advise that the VBBA membership exceeded 50 today (25 January 2013). We are certainly on target for our goal of 60 members before the end of the year. This is a great achievement for our Club considering the Basenji is not a large breed. Our membership is broad based consisting of single plus a large number of family memberships. Mostly resident to Victoria our membership also includes members in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, ...
